The 2012 Laurence Metal Recipient...Ronnie Yimsut!

Dear Dean Bronet,

http://aaa.uoregon.edu/outputroom/node/1737

I am extremely honored and humbled to have received this great news. It would be my utmost pleasure to accept this award and all the conditions set forth as detailed here-in. Thank you very much! I am simply speechless.

As you know, the Ducks and Badgers are going to the Rose Bowl soon and I am under just a slight pressure to chose a team. Being a DUCK currently living in the Badgers country here in Wisconsin and also with a daughter currently attending the University of Wisconsin and all, it is no easy task. However, once a DUCK always a duck to the end! My choice is clear.

I shall make a plan to join you and folks at U of O, a good home to me for four years, as scheduled. Thank you again for this great honor bestowed upon me.

Most humbly yours,

/s/ Ronnie Yimsut

PS: Go DUCKS!!! And this was the first big B-day gift from the UN Tribunal: http://dreamworldtoday.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2011-12-06T07:51:00-08:00&max-results=7

Dear Mr. Yimsut,
It is my great pleasure to inform you that the School of Architecture and
Allied Arts wishes to honor you as the 2012 Ellis F. Lawrence Medal
recipient, the school's highest alumni recognition. I hope you will honor
us by accepting the award and participating in the commencement
ceremony in June on the DO campus. I know you will be in Eugene in a
few weeks and, if possible, I would enjoy meeting with you then.

This medal is named in honor of the founder of the School of Architecture
and Allied Arts, Ellis F. Lawrence. The Lawrence award, in the form of an
inscribed bronze medal and original broadside certificate, is awarded once
each year at the school's commencement ceremony. This award is based
on faculty nomination and reviewed by a multi-disciplinary faculty
committee. Ronnie, this reflects the high esteem in which the faculty
members in our school hold you and your professional accomplishments.

If you choose to accept the Lawrence Medal, you will need to travel to
Eugene to receive the award. Also , it is customary for the Lawrence Medal
honoree to deliver remarks at a luncheon and at the commencement
ceremony. The school will pay for your travel and accommodations while
visiting the DO. Commencement will take place on Monday, June 18,
2012. Could you make plans to be in Oregon arriving on Friday or
Saturday, June 15 or 16 and departing Tuesday, June 19? Your friends and
family members are invited and encouraged to attend these events and are
responsible for covering their own travel and lodging costs.

Please confirm with me your acceptance of the fifteenth Ellis F. Lawrence
Medal. After we receive your confirmation, Assistant Dean Karen Johnson
will be in touch with you about the events and publicity.

Again, congratulations. Please confirm your acceptance. I very much look
forward to seeing you in June. My email is fbronet@uoregon.edu.

Sincerely yours,

Frances Bronet, Dean and Professor

The Admin/IT/Library Building That The 2011 TRC SET II, Group I & Group II Built !!!

A bird's eye view (from atop of BTC first building) of the foundation work at BTC campus site for the BTC Admin/IT/Library building. The 500 years flood just prior to the 2011 TRC SET II Group I arrival.

"For Linda and I, the work in Cambodia was something that will stay in our hearts and minds forever. I have never embraced the idea of those so-often tedious Christmas"letters" that people mail annually. But this year, I set about mailing one of my own- along with many photos - of the BTC project and my own transformation - yes, that is the word - of how deeply it affected me. Thanks for the honour of being part of the team!"

Laurene Winkler, 2011 TRC SET II team member.

"For those of us who were returning after two years, we became true believers (in BTC Project) when we saw the progress that has been made." The 2009 and 2011 TRC SET II Group I and Group II members

This is basically what we are building, the (architectural rendering of) BTC Admin/IT/Library wings (building II and III under one "double" roof).
